Hello and welcome to the new ANDWR.xyz! I'm Andrea, a creative enthusiast with a passion for web design, graphic design, creative inspiration, social media, and photography. Today, I am beyond excited to share with you the rebranding journey of my blog and what led me to this pivotal moment.
When I launched ANDWR as a side-project in May, it was an outlet for me to share my insights and discoveries in the world of design and creativity. It was a space where I could let my creative juices flow and connect with like-minded individuals. But I always knew that the initial branding and design were not a true reflection of my ambitions - they needed to evolve, just like my work has over the years.
This past weekend, I decided it was time for a change.
Time to bring a part of me into the brand. Thus, Lisyna was born - ANDWR's new mascot. A simplified human figure with a cartoon smile and large glasses. She might seem a bit nerdy and rather endearing, but that's because she reflects who I am - a creative nerd with an endearing passion for design. Not necessarily using a figure that looked like me.
The decision to use a mascot instead of an abstract logo was not taken lightly. In fact, it was inspired by the book "Mascot - Mascots in contemporary graphic design" published by Counter Print. The book emphasizes the crucial role mascots play in branding. They help establish a strong and distinctive identity, making the brand instantly recognizable. And that's exactly what I wanted for ANDWR.
I've also updated the color palette with trendy shades that create a strong contrast and give the blog an almost psychedelic touch. For the logotype font, I chose Yeseva One, a serif font that stands out from the sea of sans serif fonts. It's unique, just like ANDWR.
ANDWR (pronounced: ànder) is more than just a blog. It's a reflection of my journey as a creative, my passion for design and creativity, and my commitment to constant evolution and learning. Built with Drupal 10, it's one of my most cherished creations.
As I take this next step in my journey, I want to thank you for being a part of it. Whether you're here to learn, to share your own insights, or simply to appreciate the world of design and creativity, I'm grateful.
Thank you for joining me on this adventure. Let's see where this journey takes us.
